College sports has spiraled out of control. Team being sanctioned, universities jumping conferences, players being paid, historic rivalries being destroyed, teams operating out of conferences independently, and great conference play being changed forever.
I want to first say RIP to the Big East basketball conference. The Big East just became the Big Least. This was the mega-conference of mega-conferences when it came to basketball. It was not the boring flex driven offenses of the Big Ten or the 3 point contest of the ACC. This was the most physical conference with more technical fouls, more alley-oops and more tournament entrants that ever other conference on a consistent basis. Yes I am bias being located in Pittsbuegh PA and yes I remember once upon a time the Big East destroyed the CUSA by taking 4 of the top 5 teams away (your welcome Memphis).
Now I have reached my breaking point. College sports as we know it is ruined. Who is to blame? Easy, this is all on the greedy presidents of universities all over the country, the boards of directors, the alumni boards, and the conference presidents. How can TCU travel to the East Coast for every game? How can Texas not play in Big 12? How many teams will it take for the Pac 10 to stop? 30? The Pac 45?
Unfortunately, one football home game at Penn State is enough to fund all 36 of the their collegiate programs for the entire year so moves all only made for football. I get the Big East falling apart. Half of those schools do not have football programs. But we are watching the destruction of the best basketball conference ever put together. RIP.
The NCAA is not capable of policing its own policies and procedures. TV stations have all the power. There needs to be an independent governing party that handles scheduling and conference set up. This of course will never happens but if it did imagine the questions that could be answered: LIKE WHO IS THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND?!?!?! A question we never get answered. Can Boise beat Bama? Can Penn State play a big game on the road for once? Can we not have “Co-National Champs? Can we finally rid ourselves of this BCS system which is egregious at best.
I say to you College and University President who are only after more money every time you jump ship: You are ruinging every video game I have ever bought.
Pro Sports forever.

I love when reporters set Tomlin up for his outstanding and prophetic one-liners. His sage advice is just so quotable. Reporter: “What is your reponse to how your team responded this week?” Tomlin: “It was appropriate.”
Some fans who lack Steeler savvy think that yesterday was a statement game. It most certainly was not. It was a good team soundly defeating an inferior one. I expected a shut out. I also expected more points and better goaline penetration in the red zone. You can guarantee that goal line offense will be the center of Tomlin’s focus this week in practice. Strap up fellas.
Whatever the Steelers did, they still have work to do and that is the attitude they must always keep throughout this season. Play week to week with a chip on their shoulder is enough to keep their egos down and confidence up.
The Baltimore Ravens on the other hand are a different story. They soundly defeated an unprepared Pittsburgh team and they drop a game to a Titan team that has no business beating them. It just goes to show you how short-sighted Harbaugh and his staff really is. This is what happens when you prepare all off season for one team. You end up overlooking the rest of the schedule and invest too much energy in beating your rivals. I am surprised they didn’t give him the Gatorade shower and carry him off the field last Sunday. Thats for the gift Baltimore, we can always count on you to give us the 2 seed.
Tomlin always says “…such is life in the National Football League” and those words were never truer. You must survive and make it to the next week. Never look back and never look ahead.

I think it is our responsibility as fans to keep our media outlets in check. Like the Steelers they just seem to get it right when it comes to selecting on camera talent. ESPN has some of the best writers and analysts the sports world has to offer but every now and again I feel the need to identify when they make a bad pick.
That being said, Michael Lombardi is a moron. Do not trust this man. On top of being rude and just plain incorrect most of the time, he rides a shorter bus to school than the rest of us do. I think if they put him back on camera that he should have to wear a special kids helmet to avoid hurting himself.
This man claims Cam Newton is a legit player. Yes Cam Newton who completes less than half of his passes and took 3 games to throw a TD pass. Despite that, the real reason I want to burn him at the stake is for his ranking of the best divisions in the NFL. Before I tear into his ass let me put his list up for you:
1. NFC North
2. NFC East
3. AFC East
4. NFC South
5. AFC North
6. AFC South
7. AFC West
8. NFC West
Where do I even begin? The first glaring issue os that of the top 4 divisions in football, he only has one from the AFC which is a superior conference for 4 reasons. Ready? 1 - Patriots, 2 - Colts, 3 - Ravens, 4 - Steelers. When the dust settles these 4 teams are always left. Also to note, 2 of them are from the same division which Lombardi has ranked 5th.
Lombardo’s problem is that he ranks divisions by quarterbacks and coaches. Even if I was half-witted enough to do that I still couldn’t justify the NFC North being number 1. The only legit QB there is Rodgers. Cutler is a bitch, he proves that every year now, McNabb’s days are numbered, and Stafford is unproven to say the least. At least this division had 2 playoff teams last year…
The NFC East is a traditionally tough division with the Cowboys who have not won a playoff game in this decade, the Redskins who have arguably the 25th best QB in Rex Grossman, the Giants who are one injury away from a 6-10 season, and last the “Dream Team” who can’t stop turning the ball over.
The AFC East is more lopsided than the AFC North. Getting back to Lombardo’s QB argument, where are the 4 good QB’s in this division? I can only find one.
OK I could go on and on but the best division in football is the AFC North for 2 reasons: one, I am extremely bias, and two, the Ravens and Steelers win road games, make the playoffs, and are serious contenders every year.
Michael Lombardo you represent and egregious misinterpretation and misrepresentation of football acumen and knowledge and you sit down when you pee. Your list could not be more out of order. I am surprised you didn’t put the Horizon League in there somewhere.

Where do I begin? Let’s forget for a moment the fact that Mark Sanchez is not talented. Let’s forget the fact that he has aggregiously over-acheived in his NFL career thus far. Let’s also forget that his numbers are marginal despite being backed by numerous offensive weapons. All I really want to mention is he looks fantastic in a v-neck.
This is the type of shit that drives me crazy. This pretty boy, Aficionado reading, class act quarterback driven league. This is football and GQ has no business being a part of it. Case in point: James Harrison’s interview included a photo of him guns blazing. This GQ issue shows Sanchez the super-sexy hispanic-hero sporting an outfit he has no business wearing. He is not the bright new face of the NFL. He is part of an over-hyped team that we would know nothing about if it were not for HBO’s Hard Knocks Series a couple years ago.
I simply do not get it. It is ok for Brady’s bitch-ass to do it because we expect a sissy like him to to. Also, he is actually good looking. Mark Sanchez looks like a Lord of the Rings character.
Don’t ever forget that in the super stacked AFC, the jets are not part of the upper echelon teams like the Steelers, Patriots, Ravens, and Colts. We are the powers that be and it does not look like it is changing. When the dusts settles the Jets will not be in the picture so can we please discuss something else.
Nice sweater douchebag.

The Real Deal.
I don’t know how Kevin Colbert does it. Even with a team loaded with both young and veteran talent, future all-pros and hall of famers … Colbert is still our most valuable player. The Steelers are known the world over for doing this with draft picks.
Even though the 1st preseason game of 2011 against the Redskins was an abomination of a spectacle where the defending AFC champions looked flatter than Julia Styles in a push up bra, one thing is for sure … Antonio Brown is the real deal.
Looks like Cotchery will be watching this season from the sidelines. Get rid of him.

He has no tact, he has no manners, he has no etiquette. What he does have is a Smith & Wesson 460V revolver (sweet gun). He is exactly who we thought he was. I supposed in order to be the baddest player in the NFL you need to have these qualities … or lack thereof.
He is the poster child for dangerous hitting, but I do not believe he is dirty in any way. It is not the fault of the defender when an offensive player anticipates a hit and ducks thus swiftly receiving a concussion. Did anyone see the hit on NFL poster boy Drew Brees? Harrison practically fell before the hit and tripped up Brees. Of course no offensive player likes Harrison so Brees could not be found to comment on the $20,000 hit.
I don’t know about you but I cannot take this bullshit anymore. If defensive players are forced to hesitate than more accidents will happen. It is much like driving. When situations arise and action is not taken decisively then accidents inevitably happen. Think about this for a moment: ball carries are allowed to lead with their head! The fact that this game is ran by marketers and not athletes drives me crazy. Marketing departments want to see more points BUT FANS WANT TO SEE MORE CONCUSSIONS.
Nascar only makes the top 10 when there is a crash. Get over it.
Pittsburgh fans gotta love the fact that we have the baddest guy on the baddest D in the league. I revel in it! I revel in it!
Read the article, he makes some very interesting points…

As good a player as Tom Brady is he provides so much ammunition for people to attack him. I cannot sit idly by and not unload on how big a douche bag this guy is. He is so embarrassing to football plyers everywhere I do not even know where to begin.
I begin my rant with UGG boots. Up until I heard this I thought UGGS were only for women and as far as I am concerned they still are if Brady is wearing them now. Can’t say I am shocked he wears women’s fuzzy footwear I suppose. This is worse than Jimmy Johnson and his new Extenze ads. I guess you can put a price on dignity.
He is too pretty for football, talks like a schmuck in front of the media, wears ladies footwear, and sits when he pees. If his hair gets any longer he will look like Dumbledore. He is a pimple on the asshole of professional sports and should be hazed at training camp even as a veteran. I think all 600 of Patriots draft picks this year should put soap in their socks and beat the pretty off of him. He is good looking, feminine, and is in way too many ads with his shirt off. These attributes have no place in the NFL. He strikes me as a Kobe Bryant type. You know the type, those athletes who are extremely talented but not well accepted amongst their peers in their respective sports. Kind of like when you play on a team where the coach’s kid also plays.
I apologize in advance for this, but I would rather eat a cat-piss sandwich than watch this guy embarrass football anymore. I hope you enjoy the graphic I chose for this post. It looks like it could be an ad for a new fragrance for gender-confused metrosexuals. Here is a slogan for your new campaign Tom - “Absolute Douche: Less is More.”
